Rules - How to play Hex

Two players take turns putting down a piece of their own color (black and white) on an empty space. The goal is to connect your two opposite sides of the board before your opponent connects their two opposite sides.

Because the first player has a big advantage, the second player can choose, on the first move only, to switch colors and sides. The first player then moves again with the other color and play continues normally.
